The liquid silicone raw material is a two-component ratio. The two-component liquid silicone raw material is divided into two specifications. One is condensation-type industrial-grade mold silicone liquid silicone; the other is addition-type food-grade mold silicone liquid silicone. Condensation type industrial-grade mold silicone liquid silicone is composed of silicone and organic tin curing agent, with a ratio of 100:2 or 100:3. Addition type food-grade mold silicone liquid silicone is a 1:1 ratio of AB components.
So why do liquid silicone raw materials need to be stirred evenly with the curing agent? What quality problems will occur if the product is not stirred evenly?
The reason why the liquid silicone raw material can change from a liquid state to a solid is mainly due to the chemical cross-linking reaction between the silicone and the curing agent. The liquid silicone and curing agent must be stirred evenly to obtain a good curing effect. And the proportion of curing agent must be very precise. The curing agent addition ratio of condensation liquid silicone is 2%. If less curing agent is added, it will affect the curing speed and hardness of silicone; addition-type industrial-grade molds The ratio of liquid silicone to silicone is one to one. If the matching is uneven, the silicone will not solidify locally.
How to make the liquid silicone and curing agent fully stirred evenly? On the one hand, you can mix by hand, but manual mixing is more suitable for customers with small quantities; on the other hand, you can also use an electric mixer to stir evenly, and the electric mixer is suitable for batch mixing. When stirring liquid silicone, try to rotate and stir in one direction, and when stirring the stirrer, make sure that every corner of the colloid can be stirred evenly.
To sum up, the curing agent of liquid silicone not only needs to be stirred evenly with the silicone, but also needs to be added in strict accordance with the addition ratio.
