How to soften industrial grade liquid silicone if it is too hard?

During production, you buy raw materials from a liquid silicone supplier. If you find that the hardness is not suitable for what you are currently using, but the production is urgent and there is no time to replace the goods, what should you do?
If the liquid silicone you buy is too soft or too hard, don’t panic. Here are a few tips to easily solve the problem.
 
1. If the liquid silicone is too hard, you can use silicone oil to soften it. The adding ratio is about 5 grams per kilogram of silicone, softening it by 1-2 degrees. However, the amount of silicone oil should not be added too much. Generally, the amount added should not exceed 10 %, otherwise the toughness and tear resistance of silicone will decrease.
 
2. You can also use 0-degree soft silica gel and mix it into high-hardness liquid silica gel to neutralize it to a perfect and suitable hardness. For example, 1 kilogram of 0-degree silica gel and 1 kilogram of 20-degree silica gel will be neutralized to 10-degree silica gel. . This method is effective and will not have any impact on the performance of the silicone.
