How to make mold silicone more durable

Mold silicone is a specialized adhesive for making silicone molds. Extending the service life of silicone molds and increasing the number of mold turns not only saves costs but also greatly improves production efficiency, which is also the most desired effect for many people. So, how can we make mold silicone more durable?
Firstly, choose the suitable replication method for your product. Generally, for larger molds with complex surface patterns, the brush mold method can be used. In order to increase the strength and tension of the mold silicone, several layers of glass fiber or gauze can be laid during the operation process. (Silicone and curing agent must be mixed evenly, otherwise it will cause uneven curing of the silicone, which can directly lead to the scrapping of the mold silicone. To ensure the thickness of the mold silicone, 2-3cm is generally the best, as it is too thin and easy to break.)
Secondly, the selection of silicone hardness. Choose the appropriate hardness based on the performance of the product. Generally, the hardness of silicone is within the range of 20-30, and its tear resistance and tensile performance are the best. If it is higher or lower than this range, the performance gradually weakens. If the surface texture of the mold is simple, you can choose silicone with a higher hardness, otherwise you can choose silicone with a lower hardness. This makes it easy to demould and reduces damage to the mold silicone during mold opening.
Then, it is the use of release agents. The use of release agents can avoid silicone sticking during demolding, increase the demolding effect, and also avoid damage to silicone during mold opening.
As the unsaturated resin and resin products with peroxide curing agent will generate a lot of heat in case of resin reaction, the resin products that replicate the Exothermic reaction should be demoulded as soon as possible after curing to prevent burning. The general resin curing time is 3-5 minutes.
Try not to add silicone oil during operation. Although silicone oil can reduce the viscosity of silicone and make it easier to operate by reducing bubbles, it also reduces the performance of the mold silicone, which will make the silicone mold less durable.
