Recently, someone complained to Xiao Bian that the mold silica gel was not fully cured after 48 hours when using liquid silicone for mold reproduction, and the phenomenon of partial non curing occurred.clear liquid silicone for molds For this problem, Xiao Bian found the following five reasons and solutions for non curing of silica gel after sorting out.
Reason 1:
Adding too much or too little curing agent during the operation process can affect the curing of silicone, regardless of the situation.
Solution: Add the curing agent according to the proportion specified in the user manual, and be sure to see whether it is based on volume ratio or weight ratio.
Reason 2:
During the process of adding curing agents, different types of curing agents were mixed for use, such as; The addition mold adhesive will not react when it comes into contact with the tin component in the condensed silicone. So different types of curing agents cannot be mixed for use.
Solution: Select the corresponding curing agent according to the product type, including the classification of operating tools that cannot be mixed.
Reason three:
The silicone and curing agent were not stirred evenly. Uneven mixing can lead to local curing or non curing of the adhesive.
Solution: Stir vigorously to evenly mix the silicone and curing agent.
Reason 4:
The contact surface of the mother mold is not completely dry, and other parts are completely cured.
Solution: Apply a layer of isolation film on the surface of the mother mold to prevent the components in the mother mold that are not conducive to silicone curing from coming into contact with the mold silicone.
Reason 5:
When the temperature is below 0 degrees Celsius during operation, the silicone will not react with the curing agent, so too low a temperature will cause the silicone to not cure.
Solution: Cure at an appropriate temperature, usually between 20 and 30 degrees Celsius, which is the ideal mold silicone curing temperature.
