Precautions for use of potting liquid silicone
Dec 05,2023 Hanast
Potting liquid silicone is a type of mold that can be used for precision casting molds, tire molds, PU foam products, candle products, imitation marble products, imitation stone products, food molds, sugar art, chocolate molds and other molds, wax figures, insole, massage Silicone raw materials for silicone products such as pads
1. Weigh the weight ratio of silica gel to curing agent
Measure correctly according to the correct mix ratio (weight ratio). If there is a large error in the measurement of the mixing ratio, the characteristics of the product will not be displayed well.
2. Mix the silicone and curing agent evenly
Mix component A silica gel and component B curing agent evenly. When mixing A and B glue, pour the part with a small proportion into the part with a large proportion and mix. When mixing, stir in one direction, not too fast, stir for about 3 minutes. Stir the bottom and walls of the container evenly. If the mixture is not stirred evenly, incomplete curing may occur later. The mixing container must be about 3 times the size of the mixing material.
3. Vacuum to remove air bubbles
After complete mixing, quickly move it to a vacuum box for deaeration. The bubbles involved in the mixing will cause the liquid level to rise. After the bubbles burst, the liquid level will drop again. The degree of vacuum and vacuuming time depend on the viscosity of the silica gel and the requirements of the product (defoaming time is generally: 2 to 4 minutes). If there is no vacuum machine, stir clockwise for 2 to 3 minutes. After stirring evenly, place the silica gel for 5 to 20 minutes to automatically defoam.
4. Pour in the potting glue and wait for solidification
Inject the necessary amount of glue and be careful not to trap air bubbles. After flowing along the inner wall of the shell to the bottom, let the glue level slowly rise and try to avoid covering the air inside. After injection, it is cured under the specified curing conditions (temperature).
