Tips for applying heat dissipation paste to electronic product radiators

I believe everyone already knows the important role of heat-dissipating silicone grease in electronic products for better heat dissipation. However, it is not clear how to apply heat-dissipating silicone grease to electronic product heat sinks. Below, Hongtu will briefly introduce it to you.
1. The quantity is not too much, just enough to fill the gaps
Everyone should be aware that the principle of silicone heat dissipation is to quickly transfer the surface temperature of electronic components by filling the gaps between the heating components and the heat sink. If the air thermal conductivity is less than the heat dissipation silicone thermal conductivity is less than the heat dissipation radiator thermal conductivity, so the most ideal amount of heat dissipation silicone should be the volume of the gap between the heat dissipation radiator and the heating element. More silicone will not only not improve the heat dissipation speed of the heat dissipation radiator, but also reduce it.
2. Apply evenly and cover the entire surface of the heating element
The difference between heat-dissipation silicone and heat-dissipation silicone grease is that heat-dissipation silicone will solidify, so when applying it, it is necessary to cover the entire surface of the heating element. Do not rely on the horizontal coverage when covering the heat sink, otherwise, it is easy to cause some areas to be filled with air without heat dissipation silicone, ultimately affecting the heat dissipation during the operation of electronic products.
3. Remove the heat-dissipation silicone flowing around the heating components
When applying heat-dissipating silicone, it will inevitably overflow around the radiator cover. If not removed, the high temperature generated during the operation of electronic products may burn the surrounding components, causing circuit paralysis. Therefore, after applying heat-dissipating silicone, this step must be carefully checked.
