What are the methods for operating silicone in room temperature vulcanization molds

Liquid silicone mold silicone has room temperature vulcanization and heating vulcanization, and room temperature vulcanization liquid silicone, also known as RTV silicone, is usually used for mold making. The conventional application of mold fields is the production and application of silicone molds such as cement brick carvings, artificial cultural stones, gypsum wire products, resin crafts, etc. Heated vulcanized mold silicone, also known as two-component addition molded liquid silicone, is an environmentally friendly, food grade, non-toxic, and odorless liquid silicone that is cured through a platinum catalyst. The conventional uses of additive food grade liquid silicone molds are mainly in chocolate food molds, high-temperature resistant silicone molds, human models, and sex products.
So how does room temperature vulcanized liquid silicone mold silicone operate
There are three mold opening methods for room temperature vulcanization mold silicone: wrapping mold (injection mold) and brushing mold (split mold). Mold silicone is a flowing white liquid, divided into two groups: group A is silicone, and group B is curing agent. For example, add 100 grams of silicone and 2% curing agent, stir evenly, and then proceed with the following operations:
Choose the appropriate mold opening method based on the pattern and structural size of the product model itself. The injection mold method is suitable for models with regular products and no edges or corners. When the silicone is stirred evenly, a large number of bubbles will be generated in the silicone. A vacuum machine needs to be used to vacuum the silicone. After vacuuming, the silicone can be poured and the liquid silicone can automatically flow flat. At a room temperature of around 25 degrees Celsius, the operating time for room temperature vulcanization mold silicone is approximately 30-40 minutes, and it also takes 3-5 hours for the silicone to fully cure. This is a simple pouring method.
Brush the mold to make a split mold. Generally, a three-layer brush is used according to the mold requirements. The first layer of brush is used to vacuum the mold and brush it in place. The second layer is covered with gauze, and the third layer is coated with silicone to solidify and form. The products that use the brush mold process are mostly irregularly shaped and have edges. The operation time of the brush mold is about 15-20 minutes at room temperature of 25 degrees Celsius, and it takes about 2-3 hours for complete curing.
When operating room temperature vulcanization mold silicone, attention should be paid to the following issues: firstly, the amount of curing agent added should depend on the temperature, which decreases when the temperature is high. Excessive use of curing agents can cause the mold to become hard and brittle; If too little curing agent is used, the operation time will be prolonged. Secondly, to prevent changes in the physical properties of the mold silicone, it is recommended not to add silicone oil. Thirdly, in order to achieve the best usage effect of your mold, please store it for at least 24 hours before use. Fourthly, the curing speed of this product is closely related to the ambient temperature, and the higher the temperature, the faster the curing speed; Users can adjust the amount of curing agent according to the temperature, in order to achieve the ideal curing speed. Fifth, the two components of Hongtu silicone products should be sealed and stored in a cool place to avoid exposure to sunlight and rain. The storage period of this series of products is twelve months; If the viscosity increases during the storage period and is stirred evenly, its performance remains unchanged. This series of products is non hazardous; But during use, if the curing agent comes into contact with the skin, it can be cleaned with an appropriate amount of detergent and water; If the curing agent splashes into the eyes, immediately wash with clean water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention promptly.
